AI cost per accepted result calculator
Compare two evaluated AI workflows using model usage, retrieval, human review and operating costs. Check acceptance and safety before comparing cost per useful result.
Which evaluated workflow meets your quality requirements at a sustainable cost?
A generated answer is not necessarily an accepted result. Compare the work you can actually use, including retries, retrieval, review and operating effort. Quality and safety remain separate from price.
How this calculator works
Compare the same task set, evaluation period, currency, acceptance definition and safety requirements. Count each accepted original task once, even when it needed retries or human revision.
Model cost uses original tasks multiplied by average attempts, average input/output tokens and your supplied rates per million tokens. No prices are fetched or preloaded.
Retrieval is charged per original task. Human review uses the fraction of original tasks reviewed, review minutes and loaded hourly cost, not the number of model attempts. Add disjoint operating and evaluation costs for the same period.
Total cost is model, retrieval, review and fixed operating cost. Unit cost divides that total by accepted unique tasks. With no accepted tasks, unit cost is unavailable rather than zero.
Meeting the entered acceptance threshold does not establish safety. Safety is a separate supplied evaluation status. No tasks or no accepted results cannot establish a passing quality gate, even with a zero threshold.
This is a bounded planning worksheet using floating-point arithmetic, not an exact-cent invoice ledger. Costs retain sub-cent precision before presentation. Positive numeric inputs below 0.000000000001 are rejected with a rescaling instruction; zero must mean a known zero.
Caching, batch and multimodal meters, external tool charges, taxes, financing and causal business ROI are outside this model. Include measured disjoint charges only where the stated field applies; do not silently convert an unsupported billing mode into ordinary token rates.
What to prepare
Define the same original task set, evaluation window, acceptance definition, safety criteria and currency. Supply each workflow’s accepted unique task count, average attempts, input/output tokens and applicable rates, retrieval cost per original task, task-based review effort, disjoint operating costs and separate safety status. Enter explicit known zeros rather than leaving numerical fields blank. No provider prices are fetched.
Your report
Download all supplied inputs, evidence notes, denominator and cost reconciliation, quality and safety gates, formulas and limits as a named PDF without entering an email. Contacting Ampity is optional and does not automatically share your inputs.
