Infrastructure as Code Consulting & Terraform Services
Infrastructure as code consulting for repeatable cloud changes. Implement Terraform, policy checks, state controls and drift management with clear ownership.
Infrastructure as Code Risks & Constraints
Drift from day one
Terraform that started clean and slowly diverged. Manual changes made in the console that nobody put back into code. The state file says one thing. The actual infrastructure says another.
Monolithic state, no modules
One giant state file that everyone is afraid to touch. No module structure. The same patterns copy-pasted across environments, slowly diverging until dev and prod are different systems.
Runbooks and institutional memory
No Terraform at all. Infrastructure lives in a wiki page, a set of runbooks, and the memory of the person who built it. That's fine until they leave, or you need a second environment, or you need to audit what changed.
The audit question
Something changed before the incident. Nobody knows what. Nobody knows when. There's no trail. Without code-defined infrastructure, every post-incident review starts with guesswork.
Terraform Consulting & Implementation
Every platform Ampity delivers is infrastructure-as-code from day one. Terraform for provisioning. CI/CD for applying changes with appropriate gates. Practices for keeping the codebase maintainable as the team grows.
Greenfield setup
Modular Terraform structure that scales with your team. Environment-aware. Remote state and locking from day one. CI/CD pipeline that plans and applies changes with approval gates.
Brownfield import
Existing infrastructure imported into code without disrupting what's running. We clean up the drift, restructure the modules, and leave you with a codebase your team can maintain.
Practices that stick
Code review for infrastructure changes. Plan output as part of PR review. Drift detection on a schedule. Your team treats infrastructure with the same rigor as application code.
Every platform we build uses IaC. This is how we work, not an add-on.
Infrastructure as Code Delivery Evidence
Your team stops being afraid of infrastructure changes because they know exactly what's going to happen before it does. Every change is reviewed, planned, and applied through a pipeline.
Need a second environment? Run the code. Need to know what changed? Check the git log. Need to recover? Apply the last known good state.
Modular Terraform codebase
Environment-aware modules, remote state, locking. Structured so your team can extend it without breaking what exists.
CI/CD pipeline for infrastructure
Plan, review, apply. Every infrastructure change goes through the same workflow with appropriate approval gates.
Drift detection and audit trail
Scheduled drift checks catch manual changes before they cause problems. Full git history for every infrastructure decision.
Results
Versioned
Infrastructure intent, review history, provider versions, and change evidence live with the code.
Scoped
Short-lived pipeline identity and environment-specific permissions replace shared deployment access.
Recoverable
Plans, state protection, drift handling, import strategy, and rollback are tested before broad rollout.

Infrastructure as code needs a change and recovery model
Terraform consulting and implementation should leave your team able to understand, review, apply, and recover an infrastructure change.
Terraform implementation services
Choose module boundaries, state ownership, locking, provider versions, pipeline identity, and environment separation before importing existing resources. Review each plan for replacement and data-loss risk. An apply completing is only one check; confirm that access, networking, service health, and drift match the intended result.
Cloud platform engineeringBrownfield adoption and operational handover
Reconcile live resources with configuration, stage imports in bounded batches, and keep state backups and recovery procedures under controlled access. Document exceptions that cannot yet be represented in code. A service-management integration should be scoped around actual approval, identity, and audit requirements, rather than assumed from the choice of Terraform.

Can existing cloud resources be brought under Terraform management?
Yes, with a controlled import and reconciliation process. Inventory resources, establish ownership, import state, and compare plans against the live configuration before applying changes. Importing a resource is not permission to recreate or delete it.
How should Terraform state and secrets be protected?
Use restricted remote state storage, encryption, locking and separate environment boundaries. State may contain sensitive values, so access and backups need protection. Keep credentials out of source code and use an approved secret or workload identity mechanism.
How do you prevent infrastructure drift?
Combine reviewed code changes, automated plans, explicit approval for consequential changes and periodic drift checks. If someone makes an emergency manual change, reconcile it into the declared configuration before the next deployment rather than silently overwriting it.
What should an infrastructure-as-code handover include?
Include the module structure, environment configuration, state ownership, pipeline controls, plan review procedure, recovery instructions and runbooks. The receiving team should be able to explain and rehearse a controlled change, not only receive a repository.
